Most seafood products are low in LDL (bad cholesterol) and triglycerides and high in HDL (the good cholesterol). Eating seafood in place of meats or other products with saturated fats lowers your LDL and triglyceride cholesterol levels. One old myth holds that shellfish are high in cholesterol, but this has been shown to be untrue.
